lyrics

Old Rusty Nail (From the Album “Changes”)

Verse 1

Like an old rusty nail in a bad piece of wood

We hang on to the old even if it’s no good

We don’t want to change cause that’s hard to do

But sooner or later the change will find you.

Verse 2

Every Sunday is like Halloween

Wearing a mask to make you look clean

A brilliant disguise there in the pew

You say you know Jesus but does He know you?

Verse 3

Like a bad doctor who won’t take his pills

You point to the cure but choose to stay ill.

I can’t imagine how hard it must be

To live like a slave while saying you’re free.

Verse 4

Open your eyes.

Open your eyes.

There’s a speck in yours.

There’s a plank in mine.

Do you want to be healed?
