Morning Hymn (The Long Night Has Passed)

from Hymns, Prayers, and Invitations by Rick Lee James

/

lyrics

Verse 1
The long night has passed, the dawn has arrived
so open your mouths to sing.
Come open your hearts, come open your eyes,
in unity before the King.
For Christ is the light that's shining on us
chasing the darkness away
and His open arms are drawing us near.
He's calling his people to pray.

Verse 2
Our Father in heav'n it is the delight
of angels and saints above
to worship before Your glorious throne
announcing Your beauty and love.
Lord, grant us a glimpse of all they behold
unveil our limited eyes
that we might perfect Your praises on earth
will all of our hearts opened wide

Verse 3
The valleys and hills, the oceans and skies,
the trees and the fruitful lands
are all telling forth the Glory of God,
proclaiming the work of His hands.
So with all creation we lift our voice
filling the earth with praise.
May we truly be Your people today
in all that we do and we say.

Verse 4
So pardon us Lord, for wrongs we have done
and help us to enter in
the Kingdom of God whose doorway is Christ,
the path to forgiveness of sins.
How great is the love the Father has shown
calling us children of God.
No height and no depth, no devil or foe
can separate us from His love.
Can separate us from His love.

Ending:

How great is the love the Father has shown
calling us children of God.
No height and no depth, no devil or foe
can separate us from His love.
Can separate us from His love.
